The MK Band Project

We're back (at least for a quick show)! We have been off at college and have been busy with school life.

This is the Mom-ager of the MK Band here! Long post alert! Today's post is written by me and from my perspective of having watched these kiddos of mine close a very big chapter in their lives today. In 2020, in the height of the pandemic

The Monday blues are typical for most, but for us, Monday shows have always been a pick-me-up. The early mornings can be hard, but when we'd log on for our shows and start singing, our energy levels

Reality is slowly setting in that we are almost done with our regular weekly shows. We head off to college in less than 2 weeks, and this coming week will be the last two shows that we do for our amazing friends at the Day Program.

We did our last show as a trio today :( We still have a few more shows left to do for our Day Program friends,

Since college started for our sister, it's been rare that the three of us get to sing together and perform.

As we start to wind down our show schedules for the start of our college lives, we've been singing some of the first songs we started performing as a band.

This week we introduced a new setlist. We played it this morning for our Day Program friends. It's a bittersweet new setlist, because

We enjoyed singing more great songs for the Day Program crowd today. In the mix was the song "Wonderful World".

We loved seeing our Day Program friends this morning! We were reminded today that school started back up for the neighborhood schools.

Today we sang one of the very first songs we learned for our shows. It's called Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree and was a popular wartime song back in the day.

Summer shows are really nice. It's often early mornings and often on days that we don't really need to be up so early, but once we get warmed up and the show starts, we are ready to go!

We introduced our newest setlist today for our Day Program audience. It's got a lot of older songs that we haven't sung in a bit

It was a lovely day to sing Bill Withers' song "Lovely Day"! We enjoyed learning this song and performing it for our Day Program friends this morning.

Today was our first show after a 2 week vacation. We're a little jetlagged, but seeing our Day Program friends, and singing for them, had us full of energy! Today we showcased a new setlist too.

Today's show was the last one with our current setlist. For the next show, we'll be working on a new one. We like changing up the music to match the vibe of the season.

We sang a fun song today by The Turtles, called Happy Together. It's a catchy song that became popular back in 1967 and it's still a great song to sing today.
