A Request For Some Sinatra

This Friday morning, we performed for the Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo Day Programs with a special song request. On Wednesday, the Kitchener Day Program had a request to play any song by Frank Sinatra, so today we performed ‘High Hopes’ by Frank Sinatra! We also performed ‘Young Love’ by Sonny James because it was a song request from the Cambridge Day Program. Sonny James was best known for this song, because it topped the country and pop charts. He got his start in music because his parents and his older sister, Thelma, played music and sang with Sonny as a child, and he appeared on the radio. By the time he was a teenager, he was an accomplished guitar and fiddle player who had won a number of local fiddle contests. We loved learning about Sonny James’ background because it helped us perform it better. We're so glad our friends from the Day Programs enjoyed it as much as we hoped! Here is the set list from today’s show:

  1. Daisy Bell

  2. Hallelujah

  3. Stand By Me

  4. Everyday

  5. Edelweiss

  6. Side By Side

  7. Blueberry Hill

  8. Young Love

  9. By the Light of the Silvery Moon

  10. Be My Baby

  11. High Hopes

  12. La Bamba
